Home based jobs no matter what they entail are often times project oriented jobs which contain deadlines. If you are a parent and performing data entry from the confines of your home, you can relate to the list of things not only to do with your professional job but your list of things to do within your own home. Dishes, cleaning up, laundry, running around after the kids, errands to run, the list is endless!

What can make this sound more horrible? Incessant deadlines which adds extra pressure to the busy parent at home who’s also trying to make a living. I want to aid you in combining your professional and work life which will in return, improve not only your professional life but your quality of life.

You need to examine your targets and deadlines. You need to breakdown the heavy work load while prioritizing projects based on deadlines.

Make sure you remain realistic. Do not commit to things which you know is human impossible to complete within a short time frame. Even if you urgently need the money, you will not get the money anyways if you are too tired or do not complete the project incompetently.

Ensure that you accommodate your children’s needs first especially if they are sick. You need to always keep an honest communication going with your clients. Inform them if you cannot make a deadline due to family obligations and you will find that most of your clients will understand because they are more family oriented than you think.

Create a little office for yourself within your home. Your office can be a place where you can work without being distracted. Your office should be free of noise which will enable you to focus on your work while accomplishing your goals in the shortest time possible, because let’s face it, you have kids in the house and they will get hungry not only for food but your attention.

Structure, structure, structure and did I say structure? You must manage your time into a set daily routine. Manage the time for housework, quality time with your children, significant other and your job. Train yourself in following this schedule and do not procrastinate which I understand is easier said than done however if you want to be successful with your data entry home based job, its imperative you stick to your daily schedule.

You should create an emergency plan. You always want to plan for unforeseen events. Discuss this plan with your significant other and make your plans together. You can ask for help from your relatives or anyone else you can trust to come through for you in case of an emergency.
